Burmese and Malaysian Comfort Food
After a year of pop-ups around the city, Than Lin Regules, chef-owner of Laksa Nola, brings hearty Malaysian and Burmese cuisine to St. Roch Market New Orleans. Born and raised in Burma, Lin lived in Malaysia for many years when she first encountered laksa, the fragrant noodle dish that the country is known for. Upon moving to San Francisco, Lin started her culinary career as a sushi chef and business owner for four years, where she was inspired to cook multi-cultural cuisine. Once settling down in New Orleans, Lin noticed a distinct lack of Malaysian and Burmese cuisine and began popping up at places like Nola Distillery and The Drifter hotel to share the food that she fell in love with years ago. Now, at Laksa, Lin offers rich cuisine made with fresh, quality ingredients that highlights the bold flavors of items like fragrant nasi lemak, vibrant rainbow noodle salad, and, of course, the laksa that started it all.
